I watched Kristin while she took her first bite of the Bolognese. She closed her eyes and made some approving sounds. “This is really good stuff.” I sighed in relief and started eating as well. “Ugh, this is really good. Who taught you to cook?” I swallowed my spaghetti. “My mom actually taught me, form an early age on. I think I was six or seven when we started cooking and baking. I love food, so I’m always making up new things as I go along. Or I google a recipe and try it. Especially with cookies and cakes.” Kristin nodded and sucked a fork of spaghetti in to her mouth, slurping as she did so. “I’m glad you like it.” I said and put some salad on my plate. “Oh yes, the spices are tasty and the cheese gives it an extra little kick. May I have the salad?” I handed her the salad and skewered some leaves with my fork. “Don’t eat too much though, you want to save room for desert.” I said and winked at her. Kristin gave me a quick hug and grabbed the cake to bring it back to the table. I walked behind her with a big knife, two small plates and two tiny forks. “Do you want a big piece or a small piece?” I asked and held up the knife to the cake. “Hmm, tough one. I will go for a small piece now. Maybe more later on.” I cut to slices of cake and expertly placed them on the plates. I ping sound made me turn around. “Cookies are done,” Kristin looked past me at the oven “already?” she asked me. I nodded and walked over to the oven. I opened the door and a wave of aroma hit me in the face, practically making me drool. “Oh god, that smells good.” Kristin appeared beside me with a towel and took out one of the trays. The chocolate chip cookies on it looked a golden brown. She quickly put it on the cooking island and reached for the second one. When she had placed the trays on the island, she closed her eyes and breathed deeply. “When can we eat them?” I tsked and shook my head “Kristin, Kristin Kristin. Show a little patience, the cookies have to die first.” She looked at me questioningly. “When I say die, I mean you have to let them cool first. Like with the cake. We couldn’t eat the cake when it was hot. The heat would have melted the whipped cream. That’s why I took it out of the form and let it cool. If you wait until tomorrow, the cake will taste even better.” Kristin pouted at me. “Don’t worry Ducky; we will eat the cookies today. But later on, when we are watching TV. I want a pyjama party like night, if you don’t mind.” Kristin shook her head and clapped her hands. “I have the perfect pyjama for it!” We sat down at the table and ate our strawberry marbled cake. We actually ate in silence until we scraped the last remnants from our plates. “That is top notch cake. I will have to share it among friends.” I smiled at her and took the dishes to the dishwasher. We quickly cleaned the kitchen and put the cookies on plates in to the living room. Maddie jumped up on the couch as soon as we came in, wagging her little tail. “No Maddie, this is not for you.” Kristin pointed out. “Well, she can have a cheese cookie, just not a chocolate chip cookie.” I looked at the clock and saw it was fast approaching eight o’clock. “Shall we get ready for a night of movies?” Kristin walked over to a home entertainment center and opened two doors. Behind it was a fast collection of DVD’s. “Wow. You really don’t get out much. This is even bigger then my collection! I only have about 300 DVD’s.” Kristin and I looked at her collection and picked out a horror three DVD’s. “What do you want to watch first?” Kristin asked. “Let’s watch CSI first, one episode. Then we can watch Pride & Prejudice and then we save the horror movie for last.” Kristin popped in the DVD for CSI and turned around. “I’ll get some blankets and pillows.” I suddenly remembered something. “I don’t have my pyjama’s here.” I said and looked down at the ground. Kristin waved it away “That’s okay. I have enough pyjamas. I’m sure there’s something that would fit you.” I looked at Kristin and then at my own figure. “Are you sure?” Kristin grabbed my hand pulled me in to her bedroom. The next thing I knew she had pushed me into a closet. It was dark and I almost felt claustrophobic, until Kristin hit a light switch. It was one of this walk in closets. “Wow, you have way more clothes then I have!” Kristin rummaged through a lot of clothes; she pulled out several pyjamas and held them up in front of me. “I get a lot of clothes from designers and such.” I nodded “I know, and you donate a lot of them to the auctions. It’s so awesome that you do that. I just wish I was your size. I would be able to join in for the auction on clothing. I can only join in Maddie’s clothing for my own doggies.” When Kristin pulled out a long nightgown she seemed satisfied. “You can have this one; I should have a pair of slippers you can wear too.” I burst out laughing “Kristin, I will never be able to fit in your slippers. My feet are like twice as big as yours.” I held up my foot to emphasize. Kristin giggled. “You’re right. Let’s change and watch TV.” We quickly changed in to pyjama and carried the blankets and pillows back to the living room. We rearranged the blankets on the couch so we each had an end and a pillow in the back. Maddie immediately jumped up on the blankets, circled twice and lay down. We then went back to the kitchen where Kristin made popcorn as I made the coco. Once we were settled on the couch, Maddie crawled to Kristin, who held up the blankets so that Maddie could crawl underneath it. I handed Kristin her coco and placed the popcorn in between. Kristin hit the play button and we watched the screen as a dark scene started the episode.
