Dark clouds seemed to gather in the sky; the first promise of rain later on in the day. People quickly entered the plane and took their seats. Soon after, the roaring of the engines had drowned out all other noises. Kami and Kaylea were talking quietly among themselves. Alexandra was still staring out the window, looking at the landscapes passing by. She took out her digital camera and snapped some pictures. She leaned forward and stuck her face between the seats of her friends in front of her.
“Smile girls!”
They all smiled and Alexandra snapped a picture.
“Funny faces!”
They all obliged happily and laughed as another set of pictures were taken. The guy sitting next to Alexandra started mumbling something that sounded like a complaint. Alexandra turned to him and shot him an angry look. The guy quickly looked the other way.
“I brought some liquorish for us.”
Kami rummaged through her bag and brought out some liquorish sticks. She handed them to the other two and stuck one in her mouth. She chewed it thoughtfully.
“Will they have any good food over there?”
Alexandra sniggered. Food always seemed to be on Kami’s mind.
“I’m sure that every country has their own type of delicacies.”
She sat back and stared out the window again. She wasn’t sure if she would like the food over there, so she had brought some emergency food herself. Some noodle packages and cup a soup. If push came to shove, she could always make her own food. She glanced quickly at the man next to her. He reminded her of Crocodile Dundee. He was dressed as if he should be walking around in the jungle, not going to some summer paradise. Heck, for all she knew he was a poacher and was on his way to some fancy mansion to sell exotic animals. The thought disturbed her. She wasn’t a big fan of such things; she rather saw the animals wild and free. Alexandra shook her head to get rid of the thought. She had too much imagination for sure.
