Kami flipped a few pages in her book. Her mother had given her a thick book on plants just before they left; she had said that if they saw something they didn’t know they could look it up in the book. Kami had been fascinated with the book and now was trying to memorise the groups of plants. The book had been excellent in giving information. It gave the English name, the Latin name, if the plant was poisonous or if it was edible. She noticed that with some plants, the flowers were poisonous, but the roots were edible.

“That’s always good to know.”

She mumbled to herself. A soft whining noise came from next to her. She looked at Kaylea and saw the girl had her hands grasping the chair. Kami laid her hand on top of Kaylea’s.

“Are you nervous? I didn’t know you were afraid of flying. Don’t worry, it will be fine.”

Kaylea shook her head quickly, pushing herself further in to her seat.

“I’m not afraid of flying, but I have to go to the bathroom! This woman has been on there for 15 minutes. I don’t even want to know why. ”

Kami looked a little surprised before she burst out laughing. Kaylea threw her a nasty look.

“That’s not funny! I really have to go."

Kaylea hissed through her teeth. She crossed her legs and bit her lower lip in agitation. Kami hid a smile behind her hand and rolled her eyes.
