Kami coughed violently, her lungs were hearting badly. Her head was throbbing and there was a sharp pain in her hand when she moved it. She looked down at her hand and saw a piece of glas sticking out of it. It didn’t hurt all that much, or at least not as much as it should have. She looked next to her and saw Kaylea thrown back in to her chair. Her eyes closed and her arms limp. Quickly Kami grabbed Kaylea’s wrist and searched for a pulse frantically. After a few seconds, that seemed to stretch out like hours, she found the pulse. It was slow, but strong. She sighed in relieve.
“Kay, wake up Kay.”
She shook her friend gently, hoping not to cause her any pain or damage any wounds. Kaylea woke with a shock, gasping for air and coughing as soon as the smoke touched her lungs. Her breath came in a big rattle going in and coughing when it went out. She looked around her and saw Kami.
“What has happened Kami?”
Tears started forming in Kaylea’s eyes, but whether they were real tears or from the smoke, Kami couldn’t tell. She hugged her friend awkwardly, trying not to cut her with the piece of glass still sticking out of it.
“I think Alex was right, we seemed to have crashed in to the ocean.”
The mention of her other friend made her let go of Kaylea and unbuckle her seatbelt so she could look at her friend. She sat up as quickly as she could and looked over the back of the chair. Alexandra was lying in an awkward position in her chair as the back of the chair had been ripped away. The man next to her had been pierced by a large piece of metal.
“Get up Kay; we have to check on Alex.”
