Kaylea followed Kami steadily. She couldn’t feel any pain. Was she in shock? Shock would let you not feel things. A soft and sudden cry brought her out of her thoughts. She listened again. There, to her right, the soft cry of a baby. She climbed over a chair and saw the mother with her baby. The mother’s stomach was pierced by the feet of a chair. A sickening smell reached Kaylea’s nose, which she covered quickly. The woman looked at her with pleading eyes.
“Save my baby.”
She pushed the baby in Kaylea’s arms and closed her eyes. Kaylea’s looked at the little baby, tears rolling down its little face. She looked back at the mother.
“Okay, I will.”
She whispered the words as the mother’s last breath escaped her body. Kaylea grabbed some bags she saw lying around and rushed for the door. Muscle man was close behind her with Alexandra in his arms as If she weighed nothing. The climbed in the boat and the tall guy pushed off. They watched as the plane started sinking faster. Now that the door was opened, water poured in quicker. The weight of the water rolled the plane over on to its side.
“My stuff... I’ll never see it again”
Kami wrapped an arm around Kaylea and the baby.
“Don’t worry Kay, as long as we survive, we can always buy it again.”
Kaylea smiled at her and then looked at muscle man. Alexandra was still lying in his arms. She was paler then normal, which worried both her and Kami. Muscle man scooped a little water out of the ocean and washed Alexandra’s face clean of blood.
“I’m sure she will be fine. The wound looks nasty, but it’s not that bad. Head wounds tend to bleed a lot more.”
