"I'm sorry for this morning Mark. You caught me off guard. I shouldn't have yelled at you. I know you were only trying to help."

Her voices sounded normal. Brownie points for her. Mark shook his head.

"I should be the one to apologize. I should have tried to look at your wounds without your acknowledgement. You said no, I should have respected that."

Alexandra smiled at him, though she wasn't sure if he could see it.

"Now that we are on the main land, I wouldn't mind if you could look at my ribs tomorrow. We can get some privacy from the others, because I'm sure I need some taping and bandage."

Mark looked at her in surprise. The moonlight showed enough of his facial expression that Alexandra almost burst out laughing.

"So you're not mad at me anymore? You would really let me take care of you?"

Alexandra looked back at Oliver, who was limping out of the water with help of Jamie.

"Just don't make such a big deal about it. You seem to be the only one here with medical training. I mean, I know some about it myself as well, but I can't examine myself."

Mark nodded and lifted her in his arms in a sort of sitting position... Alexandra gave a little squeal of surprise.

"If milady will let me, I'd like to make sure you don't get hurt more by falling down."

Without waiting for an answer, Mark carried Alexandra further up the beach, where Kami and Kaylea had collected some twigs and branches. Jamie had collected all the bags from the boat and put them down next to Oliver. Oliver in his turn grabbed one of the bags and got out a lighter.

"This will probable take a while to light the whole thing, but we should have a roaring fire soon."

Mark let Alexandra down on her feet and she sat down between Oliver and Jamie. She grabbed the baby bag and placed it under Oliver's ankle.

"There, now you just sit still and take care of yourself. The less you move, the sooner your ankle will be better."

Oliver smiled at her as the twig he was holding caught fire. He threw the burning twig on the others and soon the fire leapt high in to the sky.
