People always think that dawn is just as colourful as sunset, but as Kami watched the first light of day spill in to the night sky, it was a pure white. She had been awake for at least two hours now and had walked away from the sleeping group. She had searched for solitude, a little time on her own.
The first light of dawn cast eerie shadows on the beach. Kami had been walking around for a little. She saw a multitude of flowers on the edge of the beach where it passed in to a jungle. Birds had begun their praise to the morning with a song of glory. Their cheerful twitter filled the sky and Kami sighed with content. Perhaps being here wasn't such a bad thing. At least she could find some peace and quiet her.
While deep in thought, Kami hadn't heard he sounds of footsteps behind her, so she was startled when a hand was placed on her shoulder. Kami spun around quickly.
"Sorry Kami, I didn't want to startle you."
Kaylea looked at Kami with a troubled look in her eyes. Kami let out the breath she didn't know she was holding and smiled. She grabbed Kaylea by the hand and started walking again.
"Where's Kerry Sarah?"
Kami enquired when she noted that for the first time in days Kaylea wasn't holding the baby.
"I left her with Mark. I wanted to talk to you without being interrupted. I'm sure they can handle her while I'm gone."
Kami glanced back at the fire. It seemed she had wandered quite far away from the rest without knowing. Should she tell Kaylea that she wanted some time for herself? Perhaps not. Kaylea wasn't the kind of person that would come to others unless she was extremely worried.
"Right, what did you want to talk about?"
