Mark and Kaylea were walking silently next to each other. They stared off in to the distance. Up ahead of them were rocks, the beach suddenly stopped.
“You think we can find more beaches behind it?”
Mark asked Kaylea. She looked at him and raised an eyebrow,
“Why are you asking me? I don’t have any idea about islands. I’m a city girl remember.”
Mark shrugged.
“I was just trying to make some light conversation. You know; small talk.”
Kaylea shook her head and laughed.
“Let’s just keep on walking and find out, okay? There’s no point in guessing.”
Mark nodded and took Kaylea by the hand. She stared at it and let him lead her quicker to the rocks. When they arrived there, they decided to climb over them to see what was on the other side. A high noise startled Kaylea so much that she slipped and fell backwards. Mark was standing underneath her and caught her in his arms.
“I knew you would fall for me at one point.”
Kaylea giggled and pushed at his chest.
“Put me down! I didn’t fall for you; I slipped because I heard something.”
Mark put her down and pushed her behind him.
“You stay here while I go check out what startled you.”
Kaylea shrugged and walked off in to the jungle. Mark climbed the rocks like an experienced rock climber. When he was on top of the rocks he looked around. He could see the beach on the other side was only a small one and ended in more rocks. The small beach was covered with rocks one the sides and the jungle and mountain at the back. The front was open and inviting.
“Hey Kaylea, You should see this, it’s gorgeous!”
He turned around but Kaylea was no longer where he had left her. He searched for her but couldn’t see her.
“Kaylea!! Where are you?”
He screamed. Suddenly he heard a high pitched scream. He climbed down and jumped when he was half way. He ran in to the jungle; he was certain the sound had come from there.
“Kaylea, Where are you?”
