Oliver placed his hands under Alexandra’s arms and lifter her up in a sliding motion until she was sitting upright again. He started untying the bandages from her head.

“How did you get the bandages so dirty?”

He said and placed them in the cooking pot with water they had put on the fire.

“Let’s see. First I fell in to a small lake, where we can find some drinking water and fresh water fish by the way. Then I used the bandages to grab hold of the branch of berries.”

Oliver shook his head and stirred the bandages in the pot. It would take a good boiling to get them clean again.

“I will need your other bandages too.”

He said and gave a stern look at Alexandra. She shot a helpless look at Kami, who immediately took one of the dress shirts from the suitcase and handed it to Alex.

“If the others turn around, I’ll untie them form your chest.”

Oliver offered. Kami nodded and turned Jamie around. Alexandra sighed and placed her hands on her head. Oliver undid the tape that Mark had used to stick the bandages together and placed it on the rock.

“We won’t be able to use that anymore, the water dissolved the glue on it.”

He started unrolling the bandages and Alexandra closed her eyes. If she didn’t see him, she wouldn’t be so embarrassed. Or so she kept telling herself.

“How did you fall in to a lake anyway?”

Alexandra shrugged. She had turned her back on the others; Oliver had stayed behind her so she wouldn’t have to feel embarrassed. He actually thought it was kind of cute that she felt uncomfortable stripping down in public.

“I was walking through the jungle and at one point it just ended. I grabbed on to the vine and swung down. It wasn’t as heroic as it sounds; half way through, the vine broke under my weight and I ended up smacking the water.”

Oliver flinched a little. A fall like that could never be good for cracked ribs. Alexandra started cutting off the small twigs from the branch; if she could concentrate on something else, she could pretend nothing was happening.
