Glinda lowered her wand and leaned on it, much like Gabrielle had done before. She bit her lower lip and looked from the Warrior woman to her companion. She didn't want to fight with them. One look at Xena and she was sure she would loose.

“Please, don’t be alarmed, I don’t want to hurt anyone. Honestly!”

She uttered the words, but neither Xena nor Gabrielle could understand her language. Glinda bent down and picked up the Grimmerie. Surely, there was something in here that could help them out. Perhaps a magic spell that could help them see her true nature? Quickly she flipped through the pages. Xena looked suspiciously at her, but the blonde seemed very interested in the book. She said something and pointed at the book. Glinda looked at her.

“This is the Grimmerie; it’s a magic book from Oz. It’s very special.”

Gabrielle seemed to understand the words Grimmerie, magic and Oz. A look crossed her face and she said something to the tall warrior, who only shook her head.

After a few minutes, she had found a spell. If she understood correctly, the spell would improve communications between people. Although she wasn’t sure how the spell worked, she sat down on the ground and started moving her hands around. She pronounced every word with care, remembering the stories Boq had told her about how he had become the Tin Man. A purple mist crept in to the camp, slowly curling around their feet. Gabrielle tried kicking it, but nothing seemed to work. Xena raises her sword towards Glinda, ready to strike, but at that point Glinda uttered the last word and the mist rose quickly to engulf them.

She heard two loud thuds, letting her know that the other two had probably passed out. She mist made it hard to breathe. The last thing that went trough Glinda’s mind was that perhaps she had mispronounced some words and she had called up a lethal gas and they would all die. Then the world went black.
